Resident Interviews

A few of the residents interviewed

Voices of the Valley

In 1997, a group of Anderson Valley Jr./Sr. High students and their teacher created five volumes of oral histories called Voices of the Valley. What began as a small project involving a handful of students and community elders blossomed into a well-articulated part of the community involving hundreds of students interviewing scores of community members. Voices of the Valley is a volume of books and CD’s that captures Anderson Valley history through the stories of Anderson Valley residents.

AVA’s Lives & Times

In 2009, Steve Sparks and the Anderson Valley Advertiser embarked on another oral history project, as Steve conducted weekly interviews with many of the Valley’s most beloved and colorful individuals.
